NICL Exam Pattern 2018 – Mains (Phase II)
The main exam has 2 parts – Objective and Descriptive. Here is the pattern for both Descriptive and Objective:

Note:
- The penalty for wrong answers – One-fourth marks assigned to that question.
- All tests except that of English Language can be attempted in either Hindi or English.
Descriptive Test (Mains):

Note:
- The descriptive test will be in English and will be conducted through online mode.
- You will need to type the answers using a keyboard.
- Your descriptive test, which you will have to attempt immediately after the objective test, will qualify for final evaluation only if you cross the minimum sectional and overall cut-off in the objective exam.
- There will also be a separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test.
- Descriptive test is of qualifying nature only. The marks in the descriptive test will not be counted towards short listing for interview or final selection
Your qualification in the Interview depends upon your overall score in NICL (AO) Mains and whether you qualify the descriptive test.
NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY LIMITED ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER Exam Pattern
Written Examination Structure:-
The National Insurance Company Ltd.(NICL), ADMINISTRATIVE Officers in Scale I cadre selection will be made on the basis of
performance in the Phase-I : Preliminary on-line Examination, Phase – II Main Examination followed by a personal interview
of short listed candidates.
The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in the online main
examination(Objective
and Descriptive Section) and interview.
On-line test will be of objective type and descriptive type, comprising of the following:
Candidates have to qualify in each test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Company. Adequate number of
candidates in each category as decided by the Company (approximately 15 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability)
will be shortlisted for the Main Examination.
